Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas, lovely readers! This isn’t really bookish content, but I wanted to share some Christmas cheer with you all. This is The Christmas Tag created by The Enthusiast and it asks all sorts of questions about Christmas tradition and joy.

What is your favorite Christmas film?

My favorite Christmas movie is, by far, White Christmas. This has been a classic movie in my family for years and my sister and I grew up watching it every year. It’s adorable, funny, and I can sing along to every song.

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Yes! We have always gone to visit my grandparents in Michigan every year and they usually have snow. It’s not every year, but when I was little we used to have feet of snow to play in.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

Up until last year, we have spent every year in Michigan with my grandparents. After my sister got married last year, we decided to stay home in Ohio for Christmas, but we still go to our grandparents the week after Christmas to celebrate with them.

What is your favorite Christmas song?

This is such a hard question! My favorite classics are White Christmas and It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas. But I’m also a huge fan of Fairytale of New York (especially the Celtic Thunder version) and The Christmas Waltz (Sleeping at Last’s version is just beautiful!)

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

I don’t! My family has never done this and whenever people tell me they open a lot of present on Christmas Eve, I think it’s so strange!

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Of course! Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. (And Rudolph <3)

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

I’m more a fan of little things that make Christmas special instead of big traditions. I love it when the places I go are all decorated and I can order holiday drinks. Probably having a decorated tree I can sit next to and read it one of my favorite things about Christmas. Christmas desserts are also a huge plus.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Real! I have a fake tree when I’m at school, but our tree at home is always real.

What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?

We have a family dessert that we just call… “dessert.” It’s not a very creative name, but it’s absolutely delicious. It involves layers of lady fingers in-between layers of whipped cream with crushed Heath candy bars. It’s kind of like a tiramisu but fluffier, sweeter, and lighter.

Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

Receiving. No contest there. I love gift giving, but receiving gifts is one of my major love language and they make me so happy. Plus, I’m the baby of the family so I’ve always been a bit spoiled in the gift department.

What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

Oh boy, I don’t even know! I’ve received some great gifts. Recently though, I received Overwatch for Christmas last year and I’ve been playing it whenever I can ever since. I also got money last year from my grandparents to go to Bookcon and visit my QP, so that was pretty great.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I know everyone says New York, but I’m gong to have to be stereotypical and say it as well. I know it’s not as nice in winter as it looks in the movies, but I love the idea of holiday shopping in the city. Plus, one of my very favorite people lives there and I would love to spend the holiday season with them.

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I’m pretty pro if I do say so myself. My wrapping isn’t perfect, but I’ve been doing it since I was a kid and I refuse to give un-wrapped gifts.

Most memorable Holiday moment?

I don’t have a single memorable moment because all the years start to blend together, but one of the highlights every year was always the treasure hunts my parents would make. Instead of gifts, “Santa” would leave my sister and I clues to follow in order to find our presents around the house. It got more and more elaborate each year and it was always so much fun.

When did you realize the truth about Santa?

Although my sister and I always participated in the tradition of Santa by leaving cookies and letters, our parents never actually told us he was real. We always knew the truth!

Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I do make them. No, I don’t usually stick to them. I wish I did!

What makes the holidays special for you?

Is it too cheesy to say ‘family’? It’s a mix of family, just the general atmosphere of holiday joy, and having time to just be peaceful and calm.
